Employee Appreciation Cut Video Transcript

SPEAKER 1: We know that it takes a certain personality to do what we do. You have to be caring. You have to be patient. You have to be compassionate. And as you look around, we have a very beautiful environment we work in. But what is in it is more important. Our employees, it’s the substance of our organization.
SPEAKER 2: One of the best attributes for some of our employees here, it’s probably their eagerness to lend a hand. I really never feel like I’m on my own. And it’s just an overall good, team-oriented experience.
SPEAKER 3: I absolutely love working at Huntington. I absolutely love the people I work with. Everyone’s so cheery and friendly and warm and we genuinely love each other.
SPEAKER 4: And it’s just plain fun. We enjoy being able to help our patients and do what we can to accomplish that one goal that we all have in mind here in Huntington, and that is to provide really great patient care.
SPEAKER 5: I’ve lived in this community my whole life. And I’m just very, very pleased with the care that I’ve gotten. I think that the staff are very compassionate, and everybody’s willing to help. It’s like everybody’s been handpicked for me. It’s been great.
SPEAKER 6: I feel like human kindness is maybe the easiest form of medication, because you don’t have to go to the [INAUDIBLE] to pull it. You just have to sit down and smile. I take to heart the idea of emotional intelligence and saying, hey, that could be your worst day. Let me see where you’re at, and let’s customize how we’re going to be caring for you. I associate that with the Huntington experience, in that this is a place where we get to affect our community. And that incorporates everybody in the radius around this hospital in and out.
SPEAKER 7: People that work here, everybody’s friendly. Everybody’s giving. They treat you the way you deserve to be treated, with respect, and friendly and sincere and with a big smile.
SPEAKER 8: Respect is a very big thing in the hospital. We try to treat everybody as we would like to be treated. And always, always, always, we try to be compassionate and loving, caring, respectful and just come to work with a positive attitude.
SPEAKER 4: Huntington employees stay here for a very long time, simply because it’s a great place to work. It’s very professional. It’s a full-fledged facility that allows us to be able to really showcase our skills in many different ways.
SPEAKER 9: We have people here that have worked for a very long time. We actually have some people in our departments who have been here for 35 or 40 years. And they stay because it’s just a great environment to be in.
SPEAKER 10: I love my department. I love my job. That’s one of the reasons I’ve been working over here for 17 years. I love the people that I work with, the nurses, the clinicians, the surgeons.
SPEAKER 1: To produce excellence is what we do. It’s not one single department. We have collaboration throughout the day with different departments, therapies, food service, pharmacy, you name it. It takes a whole village to make it happen.
SPEAKER 12: EBS, the phlebotomies, the X-rays, it’s the teamwork.
SPEAKER 2: You go down to the cafeteria, and you see friendly faces who are happy to help you. So pretty much anywhere you go, you’re always seeing this high level of care and a great level of work.
SPEAKER 13: We started here at Huntington as a community-based hospital about 100 years ago or more. And I think even though we’ve grown and the amount of people that are here have grown, the mission statement that we’ve always had is still the same. We’re here for the public and the community, and we’re a resource.
SPEAKER 6: It’s about the human experience. I feel like I’m a part of the Huntington experience. And I feel like we are all a part of the Huntington experience.
