How do I apply?
You must complete and submit an online application, which can be found on our job search page. Once you find a job opening that you are interested in, click on the “Apply Now” link that will walk you through the online application process. For current employees, please use the “Internal Apply” link.
Do I need an email address and password to apply online?
Yes, the first step is to create an account by providing an email address and password. Please keep this information handy as you will need it to return to your account once you have completed an application. Once you create an account, you can then begin completing your online application.
What information do I need to complete an application? How long will it take?
You will need your personal contact information, educational background information and employment history. It can take approximately 25-30 minutes to complete an online application.

What if I am interested in several positions, do I need to complete an application for each one?
Yes, you do need to submit an application for each employment opportunity that you are interested in. The good news is that once you submit the first application, our applicant tracking system saves all of your information in your account. When you apply for another position, click “Use My Last Application”. After you log in to your account, the system will auto populate the current application with the information from your last application, which can then be modified if needed.
What if I forgot my password?
On the sign in page, click on the “Forgot your password?” link. Enter the email you used to create the account and click the “Reset Password” button. An email will be sent with reset instructions.
How often are the employment opportunities updated on the website?
All employment opportunities are updated on a daily basis.
After submitting an application, how long does the process take? Will someone contact me?
Once you complete an online application, we will review your application in a timely manner and contact you if your application is selected for further consideration. We are unable to contact every applicant due to the heavy application volume that we receive. However, you can check the status of your application by signing into your account and clicking the “Candidate Home” tab on the top right of the screen. Under the “Submitted Applications” section, you can see all the jobs you have applied to and the current status.
How can I verify that my application has been received?
You will receive an email confirming receipt of your online application. You can also confirm the receipt by signing into your account and clicking the “Candidate Home” tab on the top right of the screen. Once your application is received, it will be listed under the “Submitted Applications” section.
Who do I contact to check the status of my application?
You can check the status of your application by signing into your account and clicking the “Candidate Home” tab on the top right of the screen. Under the “Submitted Applications” section, you can see all the jobs you have applied to and the current status.
What if the position I am looking for is not listed?
If the position you are looking for is not listed, you can join our Talent Community to receive job alerts and information that match your career interests. From the HH Careers main page, select “Sign up for job alerts” under the “Sign In” tab on the top right of the page. Fill out the required information including Areas of Interest and you will automatically be sent an email once the position(s) becomes available. If a job is no longer listed on the career site, it may have been filled.
My keyword search is not providing any matches, what should I do?
If the keyword is not finding an exact match, try searching all positions instead of using a keyword.
What does your pre-employment screening process entail?
After an offer of employment is extended and accepted, a comprehensive background investigation will be conducted. Once we receive the results, you will then be scheduled for a health audit. Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of the background investigation and health audit.
If I am a current Huntington Health employee, how do I apply for a transfer?
After finding a position of interest, click on the “Internal Apply” link which will launch you directly to the job posting in Workday. You may be required to log in using your Active Directory username and password. You are encouraged to attach a resume along with your application. Please note that you must be transfer-eligible to be considered for the position.
What is the RN Nurse Residency Program?
The new graduate RN Residency Program is designed to support the new graduate hired at Huntington Hospital in the RN’s transition from advanced beginner to competent professional.
Our RN Nurse Residency Program builds upon previous undergraduate nursing education and clinical competencies. The program consists of a series of learning and work experiences designed to assist the new graduate nurse in the transition to their first professional role and become leaders at the patient’s bedside.
The 12-month program includes a centralized onboarding process and orientation, department-specific content and skill development, preceptor and leadership support.
Residents attend seminars designed to address specific transitions through the first year of practice as a novice nurse.
Huntington Hospital’s Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Who is eligible for the Nurse Residency Program?
The Nurse Residency is for graduate nurses who have graduated from an accredited nursing program. Nurse residents must have graduated with a BSN or MSN at the time of application.
What is the New Graduate RN Nurse Residency Commitment?
Each new graduate nurse resident accepted into the program will be expected to:
- Commit to full-time employment for the duration of the program, with continued employment for two years
- Adhere to all hospital guidelines as a member of the professional nursing staff
- Develop and utilize peer and leadership relationships to support professional development
- Participate actively in general and specialized training experiences
- Complete program evaluations for purposes of improvement and outcome data
What if I haven’t taken the NCLEX or do not yet have my results? Can I still be hired into the Nurse Residency Program?
Nurse residents are required to be licensed prior to their start date.
How long is the Nurse Residency Program?
The Nurse Residency Program lasts for one year. We ask that you commit to employment at Huntington Hospital for one additional year after completing the program.
How many residents will be hired?
The number of residents hired for each cohort is determined in collaboration with the leaders of those clinical areas and is based on the number of staff vacancies.
How often do you offer the Nurse Residency Program?
The Nurse Residency Program has varying start dates each year, start dates may vary based on organizational needs.
The Residency program will offer four cohorts for 2022. Start dates and position availability is dependent on unit specific hiring needs. New Grad RN positions posted at Huntington Hospital careers page prior to the start of each program.

What are the requirements to apply?
Graduated from an accredited bachelor’s in nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing.
(Associate in Nursing Degree may be considered for current Huntington Hospital employee, must commit to obtaining a bachelor’s in nursing within in three years from date of transfer/promotion).
- Newly graduated Registered Nurse with a total of less than one year of nursing experience in any area by the start of the program
- Valid California Registered Nursing License
What should be included in the application?
In addition to the online application, must include a resume and personal statement. The personal statement must not exceed two pages (12-pt font, double spaced) and should include
- why you selected nursing as a profession
- what being a nurse means to you
- what will you bring to the profession of nursing at Huntington Hospital.
When applying you will be required to upload copies of your unofficial academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a description of any volunteer service you’ve performed, and copies of your
- California Registered Nurse license (Primary Source Verification document from the BRN Web Site)
- Certifications (BLS/ACLS etc.)

Does Huntington Health sponsor foreign work visas?
Huntington Health does not sponsor visas.
What does your pre-employment screening process entail section?
At Huntington Health, we are dedicated to the safety, health and wellbeing of our patients and employees. This includes protecting our patients from communicable diseases, such as influenza (flu) and COVID-19. For this reason, we require that all new employees receive a flu vaccine based on the seasonal availability of flu vaccine (typically during September through April each year) as a condition of employment, and annually thereafter as a condition of continued employment, subject to medical exemption or religious accommodation. For the same reason, you may also be required to receive other vaccines such as COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
