Expectations:
The Executive Medical Director, Clinical Collaboration, Partnerships & Strategy serves as a senior physician executive responsible for advancing clinical enterprise strategy through physician leadership, provider alignment, strategic partnerships, service-line development, and market growth initiatives. The role provides clinical expertise and physician perspective in evaluating and advancing strategic opportunities to ensure initiatives are clinically sound, responsive to patient and community needs, operationally feasible, financially sustainable, and aligned with organizational priorities.
The Executive Medical Director collaborates across clinical, operational, administrative, and physician leadership to translate enterprise priorities into actionable initiatives, strengthen provider and external relationships, and support informed strategic decision-making. As a part-time physician executive role, the position is focused on high-value strategic initiatives, clinical collaboration, physician and external partnerships, and enterprise planning rather than day-to-day operational management.
EDUCATION:
Medical Degree (MD, D.O.) from an accredited medical school required.
Board Certified in Medical Specialty required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum ten (10) years of clinical experience with demonstrated credibility among physicians and healthcare executives.
Physician leadership experience within a hospital, health system, medical group, academic medical center, payer, or comparable healthcare organization.
Demonstrated experience with healthcare strategy, physician/provider alignment, clinical operations, service-line development, or clinical program growth. Experience developing and managing collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare organizations, payers, or other healthcare stakeholders.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current California Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) License.
SKILLS:
Strong understanding of healthcare strategy, clinical operations, physician alignment, provider integration, and service-line development.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex clinical and strategic opportunities and translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
Ability to develop trusted relationships with physicians, executives, payers, and external healthcare partners.
Ability to influence and lead across organizational boundaries without relying on direct reporting authority.
Understanding of healthcare market dynamics, provider networks, patient access, referral patterns, and competitive positioning.
Knowledge of business planning, healthcare economics, financial evaluation, and performance measurement.
Knowledge of value-based care, population health, payer-provider collaboration, and clinically integrated networks preferred.

Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
