Expectations:
Serves as the enterprise physician executive leader for Huntington Health. The CMO will provide strategic leadership for clinical quality, patient safety, medical staff affairs, physician engagement, and physician alignment across the health system. He/she will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team for Huntington Health. The CMO provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for medical staff affairs, quality and safety, physician engagement, and system wide clinical performance.
The CMO will partner closely with the President, Medical Executive Committee, physician leaders, and senior administrative colleagues to advance Huntington Health’s commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and community-based care. The CMO will champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while strengthening Huntington Health’s reputation as a premier provider in the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles region.
The CMO ensures high standards of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based care, while fostering strong partnerships with physicians, advanced practice providers, and executive leadership to advance Huntington Health's mission and strategic objectives. The Chief Medical Officer will partner with an accomplished, highly credentialed physician community that values transparency, clinical excellence, academic rigor, and collaborative governance. The CMO will play a pivotal role in strengthening physician alignment and engagement, advancing quality and safety performance across inpatient and ambulatory settings, supporting continued growth of graduate medical education and academic partnerships, and enhancing physician recruitment, succession planning, and leadership development. The ideal candidate should have executive-level experience in a complex healthcare delivery system and a track record of success in building and shaping comprehensive medical staff operations. The incoming CMO should have the proven ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert, a change agent, and a steward of Huntington’s mission, vision, and values. He/she will possess strong strategic, operational, and analytical skills, with a focus on innovation, excellence in clinical quality/safety outcomes, medical staff integration, and creating “best in class” workplace experience.
EDUCATION:
M.D. Medical Doctor or a D.O., a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive physician leadership experience, including senior
medical executive roles within a health system or academic medical center.
Proven experience in an academic medical center or high-performing community health system.
Demonstrated success leading quality improvement and physician engagement initiatives.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) unrestricted licensure issued by the Medical Board of California.

the Huntington medical staff and align with the overall strategic initiatives of the health system.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be a “systems” thinker with long-term
planning experience.
