Expectations:

Performs both routine and complex tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, safety testing and repair of a diverse range of clinical equipment, which may include life support. This position requires flexibility of hours.

EDUCATION:
Biomedical technology certification/diploma or Associate degree or higher in a related field.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Two to five years of related experience.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred:
Current Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification

SKILLS:
Perform significant preventive maintenance/safety tests/calibration for medical equipment:
– Performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and safety tests with limited supervision.
– PM completion rate exceeds 90% for non-life support equipment.
– PM completion rate achieves 100% for life support equipment.
– Schedules PMs and informs the head of department in a timely fashion.
– Documents entire procedure including follow-up on "delinquent devices" on a monthly basis.
– Completes assignments monthly.
– Performs safety inspections per HMH CT’s PMP procedures.
– Based on the results of the test, makes the immediate necessary corrections.
– Can explain to the customer in common terms the testing results and necessary corrections.
