Compensation Range:

Anticipated compensation range of $134,571.00 – $168,041.00 / Year depending on qualifications and experience.

Expectations:

Assesses clinical education needs; designs, teaches/coordinates and evaluates clinical education programs. Coordinates with SMEs to develop relevant programs consistent with Evidence Based Practice. Uses ANA Standards for Nursing Professional Development to help guide practice. This position may require flexibility of hours.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum three (3) years clinical experience required
Two (2) years teaching experience preferred, including stand-up teaching and facilitation.
Program development experience preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

For Emergency Department (ED) Nursing Professional Development Spec (NPDS) Role:
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS) issued by American Heart Association

Preferred:
Current Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) Certification issued by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Current Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification

SKILLS:
General Skills- All Roles:
Exemplary communication, organization, and problem solving skills. Leadership ability and collaborative style. Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities within complex systems. Ability to function in unstructured environments. Ability to work with all levels of personnel to achieve positive patient outcomes. Competency to utilize computer systems including Health Information System, Learning Management System and Office applications at an intermediate to advanced level is expected.
Ability to use multimedia equipment necessary to facilitate classes/programs/meetings.

ED NPDS Role Additional Skills:
Provides direct supervision of the nursing staff in the Education Extender role.
Collaborates with Pediatric Liaison Nurse and Pediatric CNS to create and coordinate pediatric education for the ED staff. ENPC and TNCC required within 6 months of hire/transfer. TNCC instructor, Preferred.
