Expectations:

The Director, Risk Management Services, is responsible for housewide risk management functions including management of the insurance portfolio and clinical risk management. The Director is responsible for management of Huntington Hospital and Pasadena Hospital Association claims including professional/general liability, Director’s and Officer’s liability, employment liability, auto liability and other business exposures. This position works closely to support and enhance the patient safety and environment of care safety management functions of the hospital. The Director works with leadership medical staff and employees to identify analyze and evaluate risk in order to reduce the frequency and severity of events that may impact patient safety or financial loss. This position requires flexibility of hours.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree required. Preferably in healthcare administration, nursing or related field.
Masters degree in health or legal field or JD preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum three to five years experience in health care risk management, management or administration.
Previous experience and working knowledge of healthcare regulatory environment.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM)

Preferred:
Current Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

SKILLS:
Must effectively be able to communicate (both written and oral) with peers, staff, legal counsel and physicians including large group presentations.
