Expectations:

Huntington Health includes a 625 bed, not for profit, teaching hospital, in a foothill suburb of Los Angeles. We are an affiliate of the Cedars-Sinai Health System and have partnered in several specialties to provide system-wide, world-class care. Our services include a Level II Trauma Center, Level III B Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Unit and cancer, stroke and orthopedic programs accredited by The Joint Commission. Our medical education program is affiliated with the USC Keck School of Medicine.

We are seeking full-time palliative care physician to oversee a 16-year palliative care consult service, comprised of two physicians, two licensed clinical social workers and a chaplain. Current volume exceeds 900 patients/year. Mandated GME rotation. GIP program affiliated with AccentCare Hospice.

Responsibilities: Initial consults, patient/family conferences and follow-up on patients. Rotating weekend coverage.

Credentials Required: BC/BE in Palliative Care with completion of Fellowship. Essential skills include professional confidence, ethical focus and inclusive, collaborative management style. Strong communication abilities, staff education, knowledge of resources for advanced illness and end-of-life care, compassionate counselor to patients and families.
