Expectations:

Under limited supervision, manages and administers the construction and delivery of new hospital facilities and/or alterations/modifications to existing facilities, to include scope, schedule and budget development with end user, contract preparation, on-site project coordination, quality control, and all aspects of contract management. This position requires flexibility of hours.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related technical or engineering discipline.

Experience/Training:
Minimum 5 years experience related experience in construction project management or engineering. Knowledge of architectural design, planning principles and procedures.

Skills:
Ability to develop and present building estimates and feasibility studies

Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals

Technical knowledge of building components and their function

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Ability to provide technical guidance and/or supervision to architects, structural engineers, and independent building contractors

Knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms

Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality

Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations

Ability to perform site inspections and/or approve installations

Strong organizational skills, knowledge of OSHPD requirements within hospital projects, good communication skills and the ability to manage numerous projects concurrently with little supervision. Ability to also work within a team in support of the hospital's construction management group.
