The Director, Infection Control will have the authority and 24 hour responsibility for ensuring strategies are implemented to prevent avoidable healthcare associated infections, maintaining compliance with national standards and regulatory agencies including but not limited to TJC, OSHA, CMS, CDC/NHSN, California statues and other nationally organized recommendations and requirements, coordination and management of activities and resources for infection prevention and control. The Director is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the department's functions related to surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of healthcare associated infections; educating employees about infection control prevention; the development of health system policies and procedures.

Master's degree in Nursing or Health related field required. Bachelor's in Nursing required.

Minimum 3 years Manager level experience in Infection Control required.

Current active unrestricted RN license issued by State of California required. CIC required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, electronic medical records and infection control databases. Experience in handling budgets, recruitment/retention and other staff related competencies.
