772000 Respiratory Therapy

Expectations:

Responsible for the delivery of Respiratory Care to inpatients and outpatient requiring licensed practitioner skill levels to intervene in complex patient care situations. Responsible for demonstrating knowledge and clinical applications. Assumes responsibility for policy and procedure formulations, quality management activities and collaborative committee participation. Performing work in accordance with physician orders in neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations in floor, intermediate, intensive and emergency care areas. Functional breakdown of responsibilities: Patient Care Duties (85%); Continuing Education (5%); Performance Improvement (5%); Professional Development (5%). This position may require flexibility of hours.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

Experience/Training:
New graduates accepted.

Licenses/Certifications:
Current California RCP License.
Current RRT from the National Board for Respiratory Care or within 60 days of hire/transfer required.
Current American Heart Association BLS and PALS Provider required.
Current American Heart Association ACLS Provider preferred.
Current active member of AARC (American Association of Respiratory Care) preferred.

Skills:
Knowledge necessary to make appropriate clinical decisions and interactions relative to the specific age of a patient. Work involves contact with patients of all ages, family members, physicians, nursing, and all other members of the health care team Work is performed in all areas of HH.
