Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs all assigned tasks and services related to medication distribution in an accurate, timely and safe manner. Maintains current California Pharmacy Technician Registration and certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). This position may require flexibility of hours.

Education:
Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is required. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

Experience/Training:
Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
Current Pharmacy Technician Registration issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification from the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) with ongoing Continuing Education. A grace period not to exceed 6 months may be granted for employees to obtain their CPhT certification.

Skills:
Aseptic Technique, Chemotherapy Compounding Certification, Competency in specialized equipment (Automated Dispensing and Cadet Unit Dosing Machines).
